RIO is back & better than ever. An experienced band of talented & well seasoned musicians, each with their own takes on funk & groove. RIO’s energetic reggae-based sound is artistically satisfying & irresistibly danceable.
Local mainstays Dave Sampson & Micah Kaplan make up the rhythm section. Their years of experience playing music together provides a tight backbone for the melodies played by Scott Cumpston & Dave Craver, who play off of each other as well as any guitarist & keyboardist can. Their diverse taste in music is reflected in the performance of their own original songs as well as other artisis’ songs. On any given night they might throw in songs by the Beatles, Sublime, Das Fx, Johnny Cash, Bob Marley, Sly & The Family Stone, or any number of artists.
Healing Life Festival
The 3rd Annual Healing Life Festival is coming Sunday, May 5th, 2013 from 10am to 6pm. Over 30 exhibitors, vegan food, free massage, alternative health practices, organic skincare, fitness, yoga, green products, speakers, zumba, hooping, drum circle and Live Music on stage. Great entertainment and wonderful organic and green products at the 24th Street Park at Atlantic & 24th Street at the Oceanfront in Virginia Beach.
Family friendly, free and open to the public.
